Job Summary

 

A Campus Supervisor maintains an orderly, safe and secure environment within the site boundaries of a school. Positions in this class are responsible for assuring student, visitor and public compliance with school and district rules and regulations, monitoring student behavior, determining the nature and severity of an incident, taking appropriate course of action for successful resolution of incidents, and alerting site administrators according to established procedures and policies.

 

Requirements / Qualifications

 

Any combination of training and experience (paid or volunteer) that demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the typical duties.

 

A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills and abilities would be graduation from high school or recognized equivalent and six months experience working with groups of children, ideally adolescents.

 

Coursework and/or experience in the practices, techniques and application of security monitoring and enforcement, adolescent behavior and behavior modification techniques, and/ or student supervision is highly desirable. 

  • Attachments such as a resume are not required and will not be reviewed as part of the application review or testing process. Candidates who advance to a selection interview may provide additional documents at that time.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification - Attach valid First Aid and Adult CPR certification from accredited organization such as the Red Cross or American Heart Association. Online First Aid certification is acceptable, however, CPR must include "hands on" classroom training. Applicants who do not attach valid CPR/Certification and are selected to move forward in the testing process must submit certification should a job be offered.

Examination process: Completed applications are reviewed and candidates who meet the minimum qualifications participate in the following examinations:  Multiple choice exam, weight: 30% and Qualifications Appraisal Interview, weight: 70%
 
The competitive basis for this recruitment is established as dual certification: candidates who meet the minimum qualifications and pass the exams are placed on an eligibility list. The list is used to fill current and future vacancies for six months.
 
Veterans may be eligible for preference points on examinations. Please attach a copy of your DD214 to your application.
 
Employment with San Dieguito Union High School District is contingent upon successful completion of post-offer background check, fingerprinting, physical exam including tuberculosis, drug and alcohol screening, and an Oath of Allegiance. 
 
The probationary period for a new or promotional employee is six months or 130 days of paid service, whichever is longer.
